Social media confidence and how to avoid burnout workshop

Social media platforms has helped the ignored and silenced be listened to, connect, create community and earn a living.

They are by no means perfect and have a lot of ethical and moral problems that I don't agree with.

However, we must create and adapt to the tools we have in the best way possible.

As a self employed business owner, social media is one of the best and cheapest/free ways to engage with the people who need your service and support.

Some of the key areas I see BIPOC people struggle with on social media are,
  • Visibility and not feeling worthy of showing up authentically.
  • Lack of consistency, due to giving and doing too much and then then being burnt out and too tired to post for days/weeks.
  • Fear of expressing oneself and having an opinion that could be deemed controversial to the white gaze or judgement from ones own community.

During this workshop I would like to explore these themes and how we begin to overcome the difficulties of confidence to express yourself, consistency and visibility.

As you become more confident in your "voice", what you post will automatically become more interesting and engaging.

I will also give you some easy to follow strategies I use when I feel uninspired and have no new ideas for content.

I'm especially mindful that as people of colour we have several challenges as we navigate social media, as well as an abundance of  collective creativity and wisdom.

Within this workshop I would like to offer and share what I have learned over the past 7 years using social media as a way to grow a yoga business, sell international yoga retreats and create decolonized learning pages. Most recently I also offer freelance social media and marketing services.

This workshop is for you if you are a spiritual, holistic, healing practitioner and want to share your passions online.

The workshop is taking place on zoom and will be recorded if you cannot make the live.

"Emma gave me the push I needed to make some important decisions about the direction of my blog and how I’d like to reach my specific demographic in a way that doesn’t drain all of my energy or poorly impact my physical, mental and spiritual health.

Thank you so much Emma! You’re amazing at what you do, you’re easy going and approachable as well as being steadfast in your core values and beliefs.

You have a wonderful teaching style and you go above and beyond to make your workshops and events accessible for those who may need extra support which as a non neuro-typical individual, I appreciate very much.
Thanks again!"

Thank you for such an empowering session last night honestly I woke up on a high!!!! The space you held for us all was absolutely beautiful and the thing I kept saying last night was...Finally some one who understands me.

You made me realise I wasn't the only one who felt like social media for BIPOC people can be a struggle.

You have given me the tools to diminish those fears about not feeling guilty about speaking up and saying it exactly how it is.

You understand the struggles and the ones our ancestors faced. We. are both healing and uplifting each other.
