Relax and Renew online yoga course for BIPOC
Tuesdays 7 to 8pm UK time, 6th June to the 11th July
Attending a 6-week yoga course can help you relax, reduce stress and sleep better.
Yoga has been found to have numerous physical and mental health benefits, including improving flexibility, and balance, reducing mild to moderate anxiety and depression, and promoting better sleep.
Join now to improve your physical and mental health through gentle movements and mindfulness practices.
The yoga I teach is best suited to those who are needing time to learn simple, yet effective ways to relax, slow down and learn to take care of their body and mind.
The yoga asana (yoga poses) are gentle, yet effective way of supporting energy to flow freely within the body, supporting healthy joints and gentle stretching to increase range of movement and release tension and the build up and stress.
Think calming, cozy, nourishing and restful classes.
As well as sharing yoga asana I also include in every class mindfulness, meditation and yoga nidra to support mental wellbeing.
An important aspect of yogic wisdom is practices to still and slow down the busy mind and thoughts.
In Sanskrit this is "yogas chitta vritti nirodha" which refers to stilling the mind in order to experience ultimate reality and move towards self realisation.
During the classes I will guide you through a series of movements and yoga poses to relax and release tension in the body.
The class will finish with a practice called yoga nidra, a yogic technique to induce complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
Each week there will also be a short teaching, also known as a dharma talk to offer guidance and support for your wellbeing journey.
The class is suitable for all levels including beginners and all body shapes and sizes welcome.
If you have any health issues and injuries you wish to discuss beforehand and the suitability please send me an email in advance.
This class will be live streamed on zoom and will be recorded for those who are unable to attend live.
As women of colour our need for rest is sometimes centuries old.
There is a weariness in our bones passed down through the generations from those who were not able to rest and be fully human.
Although the tiredness is ever present, the distrust and inability to rest keeps us moving, serving, learning and proving that our kind are not lazy and unworthy.
I want to offer you a safe space to rest in community, with likeminded people.
Each session will be nourishing, slow, simple and accessible.
The class is non refundable.

During Emma’s workshops I had an amazing time. It was just what I needed to relax and restore my mind , body and soul . I am a also a yoga teacher and mother so it’s important to take time to cater to my own needs . It was beautiful be taught by a wonderful yoga teacher too . It’s was beautiful to allow my entire body to be and relax . I really enjoyed learning more about yoga nidra and the safe space that Emma created for everyone. I found it very important to have a space dedicated to the bipoc community. These safe spaces are very important to be open and comfortable. I felt very welcomed and safe without any judgment. I noticed that after the workshop, I felt very calm. My body was telling me to slow down for the rest of the day . The workshop provided me with vital energy. It was great. Chantice Gervais |
